LOVATO

LOVATO is the largest manufacturer of reed switches and the market leader in Italy. The products prove this, seeing the wide range of products and scores of quality marks issued by inspection institutions (UL, CSA, BBJ, RINA, Lloyds, GL, RMRS) in the most industrialised countries. Most versions are available in a 3-pole design with contact capacity (Ith) from 16 A to 630 A (AC3) and 4-pole design up to 1,600 A (AC1). In addition LOVATO supplies standard combined reed switches with contacts up to 12 A (AC3) or 5.7 kW / 400 V respectively or to 20 A (AC1) / or 22 kW / 690 V respectively, for the inverting of electromotors with two directions of rotation. Auxiliary reed switches, equipped with economical coils, complete the series. For all types there are many auxiliary contact blocks, pneumatic time units and thermal relays available. Coil voltages are available from 24 V to 415 V AC, for 50 Hz, for 60 Hz and for 50/60 Hz. Direct voltage coils from 12 V DC to 220 V DC. Combinations are possible with Reed switches, as direct motor starters or as star-delta switches (max. 690 A < 440 V).

Motor protection

For the straightforward switching on of electromotors the thermal motor protection switch is the most logical and often the most economic choice. LOVATO offers a wide range with setting ranges from 0.1 to 32 A (SM1 series) and from 22 A to 100 A (SM2 and SM3 series). With these, motors up to 45 kW (440 V) can be controlled and protected. Both series have an automatic disconnection indicator and a sealable operating lever as standard. The short circuit breaking capacity (Icu) (400 V) is from 50,000 A to 100 A. To complete the series Lovato supplies a large number of accessories such as auxiliary contact blocks, switching-on coils, various connection sets, wall-mounted cabinets, mounting plates, control elements, etc. Thermally adjustable to a maximum of 25, for smaller power motor a choice can also be made for the LMS series, consisting of 13 models, from 0.1 – 0.16 A to 20 – 25 A.

Limit switches

Since just recently LOVATO offers a wide range of mechanical limit switches that fulfil the EN 50047, EN 50041 and EN 418 norms (Safety cut-out switches). The standardised housings are available in self-extinguishing thermoplastic (KB, RS and T series) or of metal (KM series). As regards compactness of the housing, most types comply with class IP65. You can choose between various contact mixes: 1 make + 1 break contact, 2 break contacts, 1 make + 2 break contacts, 2 make + 1 break contact, 2 make + 2 break contacts, 3 break contacts, and so on. The contact blocks are mostly detachable and exchangeable. The operating mechanism can be adjusted in 8 positions (45°) and locked with a bayonet. All conceivable – exchangeable – operating mechanisms can be supplied: (ceramic and/or adjustable in length) rod lever, bar with roller, (adjustable) lever with roller, hinge operating, tilting lever, angle lever, open lever, key, eye for ease of wiring, etc. For heavy operating conditions LOVATO also supplies robust limit switches with metal housings (PLN and 2PL series).

Earth leakage protection

CIRCUTOR

The Residual Current Devices from Circutor measure up to TRMS and so do not react to harmonic distortion. They are available with fixed values for the current at which they open, but also as a programmable version up to a maximum of 30A. For unmanned installations there are also special self-reclosing switches available.
